There will be some high clouds at times through the period, mainly in southwest Idaho. The stable conditions will result in light winds. Temperatures will trend a few degrees warmer each day. .LONG TERM...Tuesday night through Friday...Northwest flow will continue through the long term as a blocking high remains off the West Coast. Expect dry conditions and light winds. Temperatures will be around 5-10 degrees above normal. Friday through Sunday night...Partly to mostly cloudy skies are expected throughout most of the forecast period as moisture continues to spill into the region over a dominant ridge. However, a slight change in the pattern is expected early Saturday morning as showers associated with an embedded upper level disturbance begins pushing in, temporarily weakening the ridge. Increasing chances for precipitation are expected to gradually spread southward as far as the Owyhee Mountains by Saturday night. Rainfall should prevail across most areas with snowfall expected in the higher Boise Mountains. The Treasure and Magic Valleys will see lighter precipitation throughout this event. Winds should become slightly breezy once this system pushes through Saturday afternoon.
