291 FXUS66 KPDT 290955 AFDPDT Area Forecast Discussion National Weather Service Pendleton OR 255 AM PDT Tue Oct 29 2019 .SHORT TERM...Today through Thursday night...A ridge of high pressure off the coast is placing the region under a cold northerly flow. A Canadian cold front pushed south through the forecast area overnight ushering in colder and windy conditions. Behind the front todays skies will be clear but temperatures will be much colder with some lingering breezy north winds. Continued clear skies tonight and light winds will lead to very cold temperatures with some possible record low temperatures. The upper level ridge off the coast will attempt to move inland over the coming days turning the northerly flow to a more northwesterly flow but remain dry. There will be a gradual warming trend over the coming days but overall temperatures will remain cold and below normal. .LONG TERM...Friday through Monday. A ridge of high pressure will build into the region and provide dry conditions into the weekend. A weak disturbance will approach the two state area and increase some mid and high level clouds Sunday and Monday but the dry conditions should continue into the beginning of next week.
