595 FXUS62 KMLB 250109 AFDMLB Area Forecast Discussion National Weather Service Melbourne FL 909 PM EDT Thu Oct 24 2019 .UPDATE... 915 MHZ profilers show deepening and increasing onshore flow as the pressure gradient tightens with high pressure strengthening well to our north. Highest rain chances will remain along the coast tonight with chances diminishing with inland extent as marine showers move onshore and gradually weaken as they push westward. PoPs are generally 40-50% along the coast tapering off to 20% across the interior. However, have highlighted another 40% extending across northern Brevard into Seminole back into northeastern Lake and southwestern Volusia counties as the NAM is showing some increased isentropic lift across these areas this evening. Evening zone update will feature minor tweaks to PoP and weather grids as thunder has been removed. Temperatures along the coast have also been increased a couple of degrees with the onshore winds forecast to remain 5 to 10 mph most of the night. && .AVIATION... Mainly VFR outside of showers. Strengthening onshore flow will keep VCSH at all of the coastal terminals through the rest of this evening and tonight with coverage expected to lessen over the interior by 03/04Z. There could be some brief MVFR ceilings BKN020- 025 along the coast with the steady stream marine stratocu moving onshore. Shower chances look to stay confined to the coastal terminals during most of the morning, but showers should start approaching interior sites by late morning and especially the afternoon hours on Friday. && .MARINE... Tonight...Latest observations from buoy 41009 show winds slightly stronger than previously forecast so current plan is to insert cautionary statements for the offshore zones as well as the nearshore waters south of Sebastian Inlet in this evening's update. Wave heights have also been scaled downward slightly but will still fall into the 4 to 5 foot range for overnight tonight. && .PRELIMINARY POINT TEMPS/POPS...
