Temperatures will moderate over the weekend and into early next week. && .DISCUSSION...For today, expect a round of cool and quiet weather. Breezy north to northeast winds will decrease through the day, with only light afternoon gusts forecast as pressure gradients slacken in the wake of a departing low. A cold and dry air mass in place across the area will bring a round of below normal temperatures under clear to mostly clear skies. A round of widespread near to below freezing temperatures are forecast tonight. Warmer weather, near average daytime temperatures and light afternoon breezes are forecast from the weekend into next week. A slight chance of precipitation over the White Mountains is forecast Wednesday as some tropical moisture may skirt the state to the south. However, any other impacts to our area are unlikely at this time. && .AVIATION...For the 12Z package...VFR conditions continue over northern Arizona for the next 24 hours. East to northeast winds will continue this morning at 10-15 kts gusting 20-30 kts along and southwest of a KGCN-KFLG-KSOW line. These breezy winds will decrease in speed between 18Z Fri and 00Z Sat. Elsewhere, expect light north to east winds at 10 kts or less.
