The storms will contain heavy downpours and plenty of lightning, and possibly some very small hail. The storm threat should push east of the region by Noon. Otherwise, a cold front will bring gusty winds and sharply colder temperatures to the area. Northwest winds behind the front today could gust to 25 to 45 mph. As a result of the colder air, any rain could mix with or change to snow or freezing drizzle across mainly northeast Nebraska tonight, although little if any accumulation is expected. Freezing temperatures are also on track tonight too. A freeze warning remains in effect tonight for areas along and west of a line from Beatrice, Nebraska to Onawa, Iowa where temperatures should drop to 29 to 32 degrees. Minor to moderate flooding will continue along the Missouri River above Lewis and Clark Lake, and from Blair southward past Rulo. .DAYS TWO THROUGH SEVEN...Friday through Wednesday Strong northwest winds are possible again Friday with peak gusts of 30 to 45 mph expected. More freezing temperatures are forecast Friday night. Thus, a freeze watch has been posted for the remainder of southeast Nebraska and southwest Iowa through Saturday morning, with temperatures from 26 to 31 across the region. Minor to moderate flooding will continue along the Missouri River above Lewis and Clark Lake, and from Blair southward past Rulo. .SPOTTER INFORMATION STATEMENT... Spotter activation will probably not be needed today or tonight. $$ DeWald
