Warm and windy conditions continue through the early evening, with winds diminishing after sunset. A strong cold front moves into the Devils Lake basin by Wednesday morning with winds shifting to the north and increasing once again. There will be a large spread in temperatures across the region Wednesday, with highs near 70 over parts of west central Minnesota and near 45 over the Devils Lake area. A much colder air mass then settles into the region by Wednesday night thorugh this weekend. Rain will spread in from western North Dakota Wednesday morning, and then overspread the region by Wednesday night. Precipitation will begin to mix with or change to snow in eastern North Dakota late Wednesday night or Thursday morning. Accumulating snow will continue to be possible Thursday through this weekend and heavy snow will be possible during those periods.
