(Today and Tonight) Quiet weather expected through tonight for West Central Texas. Currently, we are sandwiched between a weak low in eastern Texas, and an approaching upper level trough from the west, with clear skies. A fast moving low will head northeast out of the northern Rockies across the northern plains today and tonight. In our area, we will remain under weak zonal flow. The northern plains low will send a cold front south, which will stall just north of our area. Under weak zonal flow, we will continue to see quiet warm weather for the next day. Highs should get into the upper 80s to mid 90s, with lows tonight in the mid 60s to low 70s. .LONG TERM... (Sunday through Friday) Expect very warm temperatures across West Central Texas this weekend as weak low level southerly flow remains. Highs will be mainly 90 to 95 Sunday. Isolated to scattered thunderstorms are possible across the Big Country Sunday afternoon. The first significant cold front of the fall season will move quickly south across the area Sunday night and will be along the Texas coast by 12Z Monday. Expect gusty north winds and much cooler temperatures for Monday. Also, the best chance of showers and thunderstorms will be Sunday night, due to mainly the front and weak upper level support. Going with likely Pops across the western Concho Valley and Crockett County. Highs on Monday will be mainly in the 70s, with lows Monday night in the upper 40s to lower 50s. A quick rebound in temperatures and dry weather for the middle of next week as low level southerly flow returns. Highs will be in the 80s to around 90 for Wednesday and Thursday. Then another cold front will move south across West Central Texas by the end of the week, bringing cooler temperatures and gusty north winds. Highs will only be in the mid 60s to lower 70s on Friday.
