The National Weather Service in Melbourne has issued a High Rip Current Risk, which is in effect until 8 PM EDT this evening. * TIMING...While potential life-threatening Rip Currents will be present all day, the risk will be highest between 11 AM, and again after 5:30 PM due to tidal effects. * IMPACTS...Rough surf and numerous strong Rip Currents in the surf zone will post a threat to swimmers today. Weak swimmers may not to enter the water above their knees today. Always swim within sight of a lifeguard, never swim alone. PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS... There is a high risk of rip currents.
