Today and Tomorrow... An elongated upper level ridge centered over SE Colorado will continue to bring tranquil weather conditions through tomorrow. A weak cold front is moving south through SE CO/SW KS and may make it to parts of the northwestern Panhandles before stalling. With not a lot of moisture to work out ahead of front and some drier air in the wake of the weak cold front, any showers should remain north of the front where little surface convergence exist for showers. Meccariello LONG TERM...Wednesday through Tuesday... Warm and dry weather expected to continue through at least Friday across the Texas and Oklahoma Panhandles as broad mid-level ridge remains over the High Plains. A fairly strong shortwave trof is progged to come ashore from the Pacific Saturday night, leading toward a return to light southwest flow aloft by Sunday night. Chances for thunderstorms resume on Saturday, with northwest and western parts of the forecast area remaining most favored, due to expected higher PWATs and instability. Regarding cold frontal intrusions, tonight's weak cold front expected to make a brief appearance into northwest parts of the forecast area Wednesday morning, before dissipating by early afternoon.
