853 FXUS64 KMRX 300702 AFDMRX Area Forecast Discussion National Weather Service Morristown TN 302 AM EDT Fri Aug 30 2019 .SHORT TERM (Today and Tonight)...Overall...it should be a quiet short term with high pressure continuing to dominate area weather. Any morning fog should dissipate shortly after sunrise. For the rest of the day...expect a few clouds moving through with continued dry conditions and slightly warmer temperatures. With a slight increase in dew points and a warming air mass...lows tonight will a bit warmer with reading across most valley locations expect to be in the 60s. .LONG TERM (Saturday through Thursday)...Weak upper level impulses will slide by to our north early in the period, but the atmosphere will remain rather dry and right now it appears any convection will generally stay to our north. By Wednesday models show a stronger short wave moving through the flow to our north, and a weak cold front sagging south toward our area. Moisture still looks limited, but will include slight chance PoPs on Wednesday and again on Thursday as some isolated convection may manage to develop over our area. Still considerable uncertainty with the future track of Dorian, but right now models are keeping Dorian well to our southeast through the end of the long term period with little impact on our area through Thursday. && .PRELIMINARY POINT TEMPS/POPS...
