Rainfall totals will vary considerably, but most places could receive 2 to 4 inches of rain with as much as 5 inches in a few locations. For Thursday, there may be lingering showers across Cape Cod and the Islands in the morning, otherwise a dry and warm day is on tap. It will be warm on Friday with mainly dry conditions, however a cold front moving through later in the day may spark isolated showers across western Massachusetts. Given the expected tropical like downpours this afternoon into tonight, area main stem river levels will show rises over the next 24 to 48 hours, but stay within their banks. These forecasts include a 48 hour precipitation forecast for the period beginning 7 am today. The precipitation forecast may extend out to 72 hours during significant rainfall events or times of increased flood potential. .B BOS 0828 DC201908281157 DH12/HG/DRH+24/HGIFF/DRH+30/HGIFF/ .B1 DRH+36/HGIFF/DRH+48/HGIFF :Station Flood 7 am 24-hr Forecasts :ID Name Stage Stage Change 7 am 1 pm 7 pm 7 am : Wed Thu Thu Thu Fri : :Connecticut River MNTM3:Montague 28.0: 6.7/: 0.5: 7.4/ 7.2/ 8.5/ 7.3/ NHMM3:Northampton 112.0:102.6/: 0.0: M/ M/ M/ M/ HLUM3:Holyoke Dam 9.0: 3.1/: 0.3: M/ M/ M/ M/ HLYM3:Holyoke 26.5: 5.1/: 1.0: M/ M/ M/ M/ SPGM3:Springfield 20.0: 0.8/: 0.6: 0.8/ 0.9/ 0.8/ 0.9/ TMVC3:Thompsonville 15.0: 8.0/: 0.2: 8.1/ 8.1/ 8.1/ 8.1/ HFDC3:Hartford 16.0: 1.5/: 0.3: 1.9/ 3.4/ 1.9/ 2.2/ MHDC3:Middle Haddam 7.0: 1.2/: -0.7: 1.1/ 2.7/ 0.9/ 0.7/ : :Chicopee River INDM3:Indian Orchard 12.0: 4.3/: 0.1: 4.8/ 4.8/ 4.8/ 4.7/ : :Westfield River WSFM3:Westfield 13.0: 3.1/: -0.0: 3.7/ 3.7/ 3.6/ 3.5/ : :Farmington River UNVC3:Unionville 12.0: 4.4/: -0.1: 4.8/ 4.8/ 4.7/ 4.5/ SIMC3:Simsbury 12.0: 1.0/: -0.2: 1.7/ 1.8/ 1.7/ 1.6/ TARC3:Tariffville 9.0: 1.0/: -0.1: 1.4/ 1.4/ 1.5/ 1.4/ : :Shetucket River WLMC3:Willimantic 13.0: 2.2/: -0.1: 2.7/ 2.7/ 2.6/ 2.3/ : :Blackstone River NBRM3:Northbridge 9.0: 3.2/: 0.5: M/ M/ M/ M/ WOOR1:Woonsocket 9.0: 0.9/: -0.1: 3.6/ 3.7/ 3.4/ 3.0/ : :Charles River DOVM3:Dover 5.0: 0.8/: -0.0: 1.5/ 1.4/ 1.2/ 1.2/ : :Neponset River NRWM3:Norwood 9.0: 5.9/: 0.2: 7.0/ 6.7/ 6.6/ 6.4/ : :Pawcatuck River WODR1:Wood River Jun 5.0: 2.1/: -0.0: 2.8/ 2.9/ 2.9/ 2.9/ WSTR1:Westerly 7.0: 4.5/: -0.0: 5.3/ 5.6/ 5.8/ 5.7/ : :North Branch Pawtuxet River SCIR1:Scituate Reser M:280.0/: -0.1: 280.0/ 280.1/ 280.2/ 280.4/ : :Pawtuxet River CRAR1:Cranston 9.0: 3.9/: -0.1: M/ M/ M/ M/ : :Quinebaug River PUTC3:Putnam 9.5: 2.2/: -0.0: 3.4/ 3.7/ 3.6/ 3.1/ : :Taunton River BDGM3:Bridgewater 8.0: 3.3/: -0.0: 4.3/ 4.5/ 4.6/ 4.4/ : :Wood River HOPR1:Hope Valley 5.0: 2.0/: -0.0: 3.6/ 3.6/ 3.4/ 2.8/ : :Merrimack River LOWM3:Lowell 52.0: 41.8/: -0.2: 42.2/ 42.3/ 42.3/ 42.4/ LAWM3:Lawrence 24.0: 9.0/: -0.4: M/ M/ M/ M/ HVRM3:Haverhill 13.0: -0.2/: -1.2: 0.6/ 5.9/ 0.9/ 1.5/ : :Nashua River DNSM3:East Pepperell 8.0: 1.2/: 0.4: 1.7/ 1.9/ 2.0/ 1.7/ : :Squannacook River WGTM3:West Groton 7.0: 1.4/: -0.0: 2.1/ 2.2/ 2.0/ 1.6/ : :North Nashua River FBGM3:Fitchburg 6.5: 2.1/: -0.0: 3.2/ 2.7/ 2.4/ 2.3/ : :Concord River LCNM3:Lowell 8.0: 4.0/: 0.0: 4.6/ 4.5/ 4.5/ 4.6/ : :Spicket River MTHM3:Methuen 8.0: 2.4/: -0.3: M/ M/ M/ M/ : :Sudbury River SAXM3:Saxonville 10.0: 4.2/: 0.0: 6.9/ 6.8/ 6.7/ 6.4/ : :Assabet River MAYM3:Maynard 5.0: 1.4/: -0.0: 2.2/ 2.2/ 2.3/ 2.4/ : :Shawsheen River ANDM3:Andover 29.0: 24.0/: -0.0: 26.1/ 26.4/ 26.1/ 24.9/ WLMM3:Wilmington 7.0: 2.1/: -0.0: 3.4/ 4.3/ 4.9/ 4.7/ .END Observed river stages are courtesy of the U.S.Geological Survey, New England Division of the Army Corps of Engineers, as well as other cooperating agencies.
