A Heat Advisory is in effect today with our four state area temperatures this afternoon averaging in the upper 90s. When the humidity is factored in, the feels like or heat index temperature ranges will be from 105 and 110 degrees. The best practices for work or play in this kind of heat include wearing light colored and light weight, loose fitting clothing; drinking plenty of water before, during and after exposure to the heat; also by limiting the time spent outdoors or at least taking more frequent shade breaks, or some time in the A C. There will be a chance for afternoon and early evening showers and thunderstorms, coverage will be isolated in our North to scattered across our South. .DAYS TWO THROUGH SEVEN...Wednesday through Monday... The heat will continue into midweek with the Heat Advisory in effect through Wednesday. Otherwise, scattered showers and thunderstorms will be on the up tick on overall coverage into the weekend. A weak front will approach and weaken the heat ridge in the upper air. We can also expect that a weak low area of broad low pressure over the Gulf coast will help to keep the air muggy, good for developing some heavier rainfall totals. .SPOTTER INFORMATION STATEMENT... Activation of emergency management personnel...amateur radio operators and storm spotters will not be needed through tonight. $$ 24
