...SPECIAL WEATHER STATEMENT FOR MARLBORO COUNTY UNTIL 745 PM EDT... 

At 645 PM EDT, Doppler radar was tracking a strong thunderstorm 7
miles northwest of Mccoll, or 8 miles north of Bennettsville, moving 
east at 10 mph.  Addtional strong storms are likely to form 
especially in areas in the northern half of Marlboro county over the 
next hour. 

Winds in excess of 30 mph, frequent lightning, and heavy rain will 
be possible with this storm.

Locations impacted include...
Bennettsville, Mccoll, Clio, Wallace, Brownsville, Chavistown, 
Dunbar, and Tatum.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

Frequent cloud to ground lightning is occurring with this storm.
Lightning can strike 10 miles away from a thunderstorm. Seek a safe
shelter inside a building or vehicle.

This storm may intensify, so be certain to monitor local radio
stations and available television stations for additional information
and possible warnings from the National Weather Service.
