SGW PREV DISCUSSION... /issued 259 AM CDT Thu Aug 1 2019/ Skies are mostly clear early this morning with temperatures ranging from the mid 60s to lower 70s. High pressure is currently centered over the northern Great Lakes region. The high will move little today which will mean a continuation of the dry weather pattern. Temperatures will remain slightly below normal with highs today in the upper 80s to lower 90s. Tonight will see little change in this pattern as the high remains anchored over the northern U.S. This dry weather pattern with slightly below normal temperatures will continue for Friday and Friday night. By Saturday, the frontal boundary which moved through the region earlier this week will return back north as a warm front. Scattered thunderstorms are expected to develop ahead and along the frontal boundary for both Saturday and Sunday. As the frontal boundary finally weakens on Monday, the chance of thunderstorms will begin to end. High pressure will build into the region by Monday night, bringing another period of dry weather starting Monday night and continuing through Tuesday night. Wednesday will see a return to more seasonal weather with a chance of thunderstorms mainly during the afternoon and early evening hours.
