Hot and humid weather will continue for one more day today as a
cold front gradually approaches from the west. Widely scattered
showers and thunderstorms are expected this afternoon ahead of
the front and a few of the storms could be severe. After today,
somewhat cooler air will move into northern New England in the 
wake of the cold front. With an upper level trough over the 
region this weekend, a few showers and thunderstorms will be 
possible, but a complete washout is not expected. A better 
chance at more widespread showers and thunderstorms will be 
possible mid next week.
