.SHORT TERM...(Today through Tuesday)

High pressure settles in across the four corners region Monday
through Tuesday. Cooler airmass will remain across the high 
plains with temperatures remain unseasonably cool as highs will 
only be in the mid to upper 70s for Monday. This is around 10 
degrees below normal across southwest and north central Nebraska. 
Cool temperatures continue into Tuesday across southwest and north
central Nebraska as highs will once again be below normal with 
temperatures in the upper 70s. The northwest Sandhills will be 
slightly warmer with highs in the low 80s which is near normal. 

As for precipitation chances in the short term, the weather
pattern will remain dry through Tuesday. There is a slight concern
of patchy fog early Tuesday morning, however forecaster confidence
was low at this time in widespread fog forming, but did add a
mention of patchy fog on the very east of the forecast area, this
may need to be expanded in further forecast if confidence becomes
higher. 
 

.LONG TERM...(Tuesday night through Sunday)

Upper level high pressure remains in place across the southwest 
CONUS through the week. There is a slight chance for thunderstorms
on Wednesday. A better chance of thunderstorms comes on Thursday
as a shortwave trough moves across the High Plains. Thunderstorms
are also possible Saturday evening as another disturbance moves
through the High Plains from the west. Temperatures will gradually
warm up through the week, reaching the low 90s by Sunday.

.AVIATION...(For the 06Z TAFS through 06Z Monday night)

VFR anticipated for most terminals through the forecast cycle.
Southwest Nebraska is the exception where MVFR ceilings remain.
The latest guidance has the stratus lifting during the morning
hours on Monday. Otherwise, expect dry conditions with light
winds. Forecast confidence is high.
