While strong thunderstorms are expected over much of the area, severe thunderstorms will be possible along and north of a line from Lincoln to Buhler to Coffeyville. The primary threats will be 60 mph winds, but quarter sized hail and locally heavy rain are also possible. Heat indices around 105 can be expected over portions of south central and southeast Kansas this afternoon.
