Another night of LLWS periods at all three terminals, mainly speed shear, as winds at the surface will be slowly coming down but remaining elevated at 2K feet. Otherwise, VFR conditions. && PREV DISCUSSION... /issued 421 PM CDT Fri Jul 19 2019/ UPDATE... Added mention of isolated -TRW across our northwestern counties. Convection has finally been able to develop along a surface boundary as upper level lift pushes into the FA. Storms will move to the northeast through the late afternoon/early evening before dissipating around sunset. Gusty winds from downdrafts will be possible, otherwise no severe threat is expected. PREV DISCUSSION... /issued 233 PM CDT Fri Jul 19 2019/ DISCUSSION... Ridging pattern continues across the region but relief from the heat is on its way for the beginning of next week. But before that we'll be forced to endure a few more days of temperatures near or exceeding 100 degrees with mild overnight lows in the 70s. As the upper level ridge amplifies over the Rockies this weekend, troughing to the east will result in pleasant pattern change for our area, as a cold front will push south across the region late Sunday night into early morning. Most favorable areas for showers or storms will be the higher terrain along the extreme southern Texas Panhandle near the TX/NM state line. With north/northeast upper level flow, dry air will quickly fill in behind the front, with little to no lingering showers expected behind the front. But the 15-20 degree temperature drops will be well received. Temperatures will gradually climb back toward 90 through next week but still remain below normal for this time of the year into next weekend. Although precipitation chances are meagher as the front moves through, unfortunately we appear to remain mostly dry through the extended period as well. && .LUB WATCHES/WARNINGS/ADVISORIES...
