Most of the shower and thunderstorm that is near the KJCT terminal
has shown signs of dissipating over the past hour with the main
activity staying well to the east. With this said, VFR conditions
will remain across all the terminals over the next 24 hours. We
will watch for the potential for some development of some isolated
convection this afternoon. Confidence in timing and coverage is
low so we have excluded any mention of VCTS or TS in this TAF
package. Winds will gradually shift to the northwest by the
morning and remain below 12 knots.

Strong winds gusts and thunderstorms will affecting the KSJT and
KSOA terminals through 1Z. Storms will become isolated by 2Z.
Winds will be northeast 5 to 10 KTS late tonight and Thursday as a
weak cold front moves through.

SHORT TERM...
(Tonight and Thursday)

.Possible Severe Thunderstorms...

The potential for severe thunderstorms remains in the forecast,
for tonight and Thursday. A cold front will push south, across
Texas tonight, and initiate thunderstorms. Short-term models still
indicate surface winds, from the north or northeast, across all of
West Central Texas late tonight and all day tomorrow. The Storm
Prediction Center has much of West Central Texas in a marginal
risk area. The main threats are damaging winds and deadly
lightning. Also, the heat advisory continues through 7 PM CDT this
evening, with possible heat indices around 106 or 107.

LONG TERM...
(Thursday Night through Wednesday)

.Dry and Cooler...

The long term remains dry, with afternoon highs much closer to
usual early to mid July highs. Models indicate surface winds will
continue, from the northeast, at least into the start of this 
next work week. Surface winds, from the southeast and south,
finally return to West Central Texas, by Tuesday. This southerly
return will likely initiate another warming trend.
