High pressure will result in a dry day today and Friday, with warm
to hot summertime temperatures both days.

The mercury will rise well into the 80s today, and into the 90s
away from the south coasts of Long Island and southern
Connecticut. Temperatures fall into the 60s and 70s tonight.

Similar afternoon high temperatures are forecast for Friday, 80s
and 90s.

A cold front will approach the region from the northwest on
Saturday. This will lead to an increase in humidity and the 
chance of showers and thunderstorms.
