An isolated thunderstorm may develop over interior Martin and Saint Lucie counties during the mid to late afternoon as the east coast sea breeze collides with the Lake Okeechobee breeze boundary. Later this evening and overnight, a few storms should push southeast over the Atlantic coastal waters offshore Volusia County. The primary threat will be lightning strikes and gusty winds. .EXCESSIVE HEAT IMPACT... Above normal temperatures in the mid 90s will combine with humidity to produce peak heat index values of 102 to 107 across east central Florida this afternoon. Take precautions if working or recreating outdoors today. If possible, reschedule strenuous activities to the early morning or evening. Take frequent rest breaks in shaded or air conditioned environments and drink plenty of fluids. .MARINE THUNDERSTORM GUST IMPACT... Isolated lightning storms may push east southeast across the offshore waters of Volusia county after sunset. These storms will be capable of strong wind gusts up to 40 knots. .DAYS TWO THROUGH SEVEN...SUNDAY THROUGH FRIDAY. Isolated to scattered lightning storms are expected each afternoon.
