637 FXUS62 KFFC 192359 AFDFFC Area Forecast Discussion...Updated for Aviation National Weather Service Peachtree City GA 800 PM EDT Wed Jun 19 2019 .SHORT TERM /Tonight through Thursday Night/... Current radar loop shows showers and some isolated thunderstorms across the area this afternoon. Currently there is not as much activity as yesterday but there is a bit drier airmass over the state also. We are kind of in between two shortwaves right now with the second one moving into NW GA just before sunrise Thursday. There is a decent amount of moisture in the atmosphere right now but the deepest moisture is east and west of the state. As this second wave punches into our area early tomorrow morning we will see increased thunderstorm activity thursday morning and afternoon. This coincides well with SPC increasing the slight risk area to include most of north and central GA. With increased instability and PWs in the 1.5 to 1.8in range looks like the greatest risks tomorrow will be periods of heavy rain, Strong gusty winds, and hail. Shear values are expected to very weak so not looking for any tornadic activity. Temps will remain in the 80s to near 90 with low temps in the 60s and 70s. 01 .LONG TERM /Friday through Wednesday/... Still no major changes needed to the extended portion of the forecast. Typical summertime conditions expected for much of the long term portion of the forecast. Mostly diurnal convection with near to above normal temps expected. There is one fly in the ointment on Saturday. The models are still hinting at the potential for an MCS during the early part of Saturday. Run to run consistency has been pretty good with timing, but struggling with location. NListemaa && .AVIATION... 00Z Update... Should be VFR overnight except some MVFR to IFR ceilings across the area after 06z. Isolated thunderstorms are possible through the night.
