...FLASH FLOOD WATCH IN EFFECT THROUGH WEDNESDAY MORNING...

The National Weather Service in Kansas City/Pleasant Hill has
expanded the

* Flash Flood Watch to include portions of north central 
  Missouri and northeast Missouri, including the following 
  areas, in north central Missouri, Putnam and Sullivan. In 
  northeast Missouri, Adair and Schuyler. 

* Through Wednesday morning

* Multiple rounds of thunderstorms are expected to move through
  this area by Wednesday morning. An additional 2 to 3 inches of
  rainfall with locally higher amounts are possible through
  Wednesday morning with the highest totals likely to occur
  Tuesday afternoon into the evening. Due to saturated soils it
  will not take much rainfall for flash flooding to occur in areas
  that have received multiple inches of rainfall over the weekend. 
  

* Low-lying and flood-prone areas will be most susceptible to 
  the dangers of flash flooding. Areas near rivers, creeks, and 
  streams will likely become flooded during and immediately 
  after heavy rainfall. Be very careful if driving at night as 
  flood water are very hard to see. 

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

A Flash Flood Watch means that conditions may develop that lead
to flash flooding. Flash flooding is a VERY DANGEROUS SITUATION.

You should monitor later forecasts and be prepared to take action
should Flash Flood Warnings be issued.
