The National Weather Service in Springfield has issued a

* Flash Flood Warning for...
  South central Greene County in southwestern Missouri...

* Until 715 PM CDT Tuesday.

* At 113 PM CDT, emergency management reported heavy rain across the 
  warned area. Radar estimates 2 to 4 inches of rain have fallen 
  since last night. Flash flooding is already occurring. At 110 PM 
  CDT there was a report of a foot of water over the roadway at 
  Battlefield between Campbell and Kansas Expressway. A water rescue 
  is ongoing at this time.

* Creeks, streams, and low water crossings will be especially
  susceptible to the dangers of flash flooding.

  Battlefield...                    Willard...
  Brookline...                      Galloway...

This warning includes but is not limited to the following low water
crossings...
Scenic Avenue in southwest Springfield...
East Buena Vista Road at Ward Branch south of Springfield...
Farm Road 156 at Wilsons Creek southwest of Springfield...
Farm Road 146 at Wilsons Creek southwest of Springfield...
and Farm Road 150 at Wilsons Creek southwest of Springfield.

Additional rainfall amounts up to an 1 inch are possible in the 
warned area.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

A Flash Flood Warning means that flooding is imminent or occurring.
If you are in the warned area move to higher ground immediately.
Residents living along streams and creeks should take immediate
precautions to protect life and property.

Turn around, don't drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood
deaths occur in vehicles.
