Rainfall totals were between 2 to 2 and a half inches. Though not as heavy, most other parts of the state did see rain overnight. The rainfall has increased the flows and levels of rivers, creeks, and streams, though this has not presented major issues. By late morning, there was still plenty of lingering cloud cover over Iowa. Temperatures have held pretty steady this morning in the mid 50s to lower 60s for central and southern Iowa, with upper 40s to lower 50s in northern Iowa. There were still some light rain showers in eastern Iowa. Across the rest of the region, the weather has been active over the past 24 hours. Thunderstorms and rain showers have impacted portions of Nebraska, Kansas, and Missouri. A few of the storms in the region were severe with hail and gusty winds. As of this morning, visible satellite imagery has been showing clear skies over a lot of Kansas, with partly to mostly cloudy conditions for the rest of the region. For today, temperatures will not rebound in Iowa due to the cloud cover. Today's high temperatures will be in the lower 60s for central and southern Iowa, with lower to mid 50s in northern Iowa. A few light rain showers are possible this afternoon but conditions will be drying out throughout the day. Wind gusts will increase later this evening, between 25 and 30 miles per hour. Tomorrow, temperatures will remain in the lower 60s. The weather will be dry through the early afternoon. Rain showers will enter western Iowa Monday late afternoon into the evening. The weather pattern becomes active again on Tuesday, with thunderstorms in the forecast. A few storms could be strong to severe. $$
