The day started out on the cool side for mid May with morning lows in the mid to upper 30s. Plentiful sunshine expected for most of the day will help send temperatures back into the low to mid 60s. It will feel pleasant, although the high is still 5 to 10 degrees below average for today. Few showers possible tonight into Saturday morning southern Iowa. The next chance for precipitation quickly arrives Saturday afternoon and evening from the northwest as a cold front noses into the state. Rain and a few rumbles of thunder will be possible through Sunday. The main theme going into next week will be warmer temperatures as highs return to the 70s by Tuesday and hold there through at least the middle of the week. Showers and storms are possible Tuesday into Tuesday night, but the threat for severe weather is low at this time. More active weather may return to the region late next week, but that remains to far out to dive into any details at this time. && This product is being considered for termination.
