The weather will transition towards a cooler and wetter pattern as a series of disturbances moves across the area through the week. Wednesday will be the wettest day of the period with snow levels dropping from around 9000 feet mid day Wednesday down to 6000 feet Wednesday night and again Thursday night. Several inches of heavy wet snow can be expected across the mountains Wednesday night and Thursday night. The best chance for afternoon showers and thunderstorms will pull westward to across the mountains for Friday into next weekend with a warming and drying trend expected for next Monday. Smoke dispersion rates will drop into the poor category for all areas by 8 PM. Inversions will break around 10 to 11 AM for most areas with dispersions rising into the very good to excellent category by afternoon across the mountains and valleys. Dispersions will remain poor to far across the eastern plains.
