Dry weather and a warming trend are forecast from Wednesday into the weekend. && .UPDATE...A cold front moving through Utah will bring the chance for showers and thunderstorms along the AZ/UT border tonight. Have incrased POPs along the border...especially over the Kaibab Plateau. && .PREV DISCUSSION /Issued by National/...A cold front will sweep into southern Utah tonight grazing the Arizona border and a few showers will be possible over the area from Fredonia to Page. A moderate westerly flow aloft will develop over the region Wednesday and Thursday as a broad mean trough remains over Utah/Colorado followed by a ridge building Friday and Saturday. This will produce a warming trend with dry and quiet weather going into the weekend, but a large Pacific trough will be approaching the SoCal Coast Sunday or early next week. Medium range models disagree on timing the inland progression of this system and it may hold off until Monday or Tuesday when the leading edge moves into Arizona, primarily bringing increase south-southwest winds and a slight chance of showers and thunderstorms by Tuesday. && .AVIATION...For the 06Z package..Primarily VFR conditions are forecast over the next 24 hours. An isolated thunderstorm remains possible north of KGCN to KPGA line through 12z.
