Surface high pressure builds into the area...behind a departing cold front...which ushers in a slightly cooler and drier air mass. Gusty winds this afternoon will be diminishing this evening and become light by later tonight into Saturday. Temps will cool to 50 to 55 inland and near 60 along the coast tonight and warm to the lower 80s inland to upper 70s coast Saturday. .SHORT TERM (Sunday-Monday night)... Surface high continues over the area on Saturday with a near zonal flow aloft. The surface high moves offshore Sunday while an upper ridge builds over the area. This results in the continuation of mostly clear skies with a warming trend. Seabreezes will develop along the coast in the afternoons. High temps will be in the upper 80s to near 90 inland and lower 80s coast. Lows will be in the 50s inland and 60s coast Sunday night and in the 60s area wide Monday night. and warm to above normal Sunday. .LONG TERM (Tuesday-Friday)... Deep layer ridging will dominate the region through most of the period resulting in a continuation of the mostly clear and dry conditions. The ridge will weaken some towards the end of the period allowing for more moisture return and a slight chance of afternoon showers. Temps expected to be above normal with afternoon temps upper 80s to near 90 degrees inland and lower 80s coast. Lows in the 60s. && .AVIATION...A weak frontal boundary was moving through the region early this afternoon, and scattered showers were developing along it. These showers will move through the region, near the TAF sites this afternoon. West southwest winds 10-15 knots with higher gusts will shift to the west to west northwest behind the front, and skies will quickly become clear. High pressure will build into the region tonight and Saturday, and light winds will prevail. Sea breeze boundaries will move inland along the coasts near the end of the TAF period. && .MARINE...A surge of west northwest winds behind a cold front will produce SCA conditions offshore and SCEC near shore tonight.
