Gusty winds will diminish over the next several hours with a low chance to see a sprinkle or light shower. Otherwise, skies will be partly cloudy and lows falling into the upper 40s. Very few changes were needed to the going forecast. && .PREV DISCUSSION [731 PM EDT]... .NEAR TERM [Through Tonight]... Strong cold front is clearing the area this afternoon with convection ending. However, strong non-thunderstorm wind gusts in the 35-40 knot range will continue behind the front, which could lead to a few more sporadic power outages. Overall, conditions will be improving through the overnight hours decreasing winds and gradually clearing skies. Overnight lows are expected to range from the mid 40s to lower 50s. .SHORT TERM [Saturday Through Sunday Night]... The weekend looks rather tranquil with ridging and a drier airmass moving into the area in wake of today's cold front. Afternoon highs will generally be in the mid 60s to near 70 on Saturday, warming to the mid to upper 70s by Sunday. Overnight lows will generally be in the mid 40s to lower 50s. .LONG TERM [Monday Through Friday]... Dry weather is expected for most of the week with the next system expected to arrive towards the end of the week. Currently, it does not look as potent as today's system, although instability appears sufficient for a mention of thunderstorms. Temperatures are expected to be a few degrees above average. .AVIATION... [Through 00Z Sunday] Strong westerly winds will diminish within the first hour or two of the TAF period. Expect winds to become light with scattered mid and high decks of clouds. Another breezy day, although not as strong as today, is in storm for the sites Saturday. Some gusts to 25 knots will be possible. VFR throughout the period. .MARINE... Gale conditions will gradually subside this evening, but hazardous conditions for small boaters are expected to continue through Saturday with small craft advisory conditions persisting. Winds and seas are expected to decrease on Sunday through the middle of next week. .FIRE WEATHER... Dry weather returns for the weekend with high pressure building in. Dispersions will be elevated with high transport winds and mixing heights. Other than high dispersions, there are no fire weather concerns. .HYDROLOGY... Coastal flood concerns will peak with this afternoon's high tide across the big bend, and then decrease this evening.
