...PRELIMINARY STORM SURVEYS SCHEDULED TODAY FOR AREAS BETWEEN
COLUMBUS AND JACKSON (BUTTS) COUNTY...

Sporadic damage occurred from Sunday's severe weather, with some
of the damage likely caused by brief tornadoes. The National 
Weather Service office in Peachtree City GA will conduct storm 
surveys today for several areas in west-central Georgia. The team
will initially survey damage between eastern Harris and western 
Talbot county, then work its way northeast and survey an area of 
damage between Lamar County and western Butts County.

A final assessment including results of the survey are expected 
to be completed and transmitted via a Public Information Statement
by late this afternoon or early this evening.

The storm survey information will also eventually be available on
our website at http://www.weather.gov/ffc
