483 FXUS65 KFGZ 101552 AFDFGZ Area Forecast Discussion National Weather Service Flagstaff AZ 852 AM MST Wed Apr 10 2019 .SYNOPSIS...Sharply cooler temperatures and showers mainly north of Interstate 40 are expected today, along with lingering windy conditions. Another weather system will move in on Friday bringing widespread precipitation chances and continued cool temperatures to the region. && .UPDATE...The upper-air trough axis from the system that is bringing cloud cover and embedded showers across northern Arizona is currently located from the Four Corners down to southwestern Arizona. Look for this elevated trough to continue to move eastward throughout today and bring gusty west to northwest winds. Current cloud coverage and an advancing pool of mid-level moisture prompted an increase in sky cover for the remainder of today. Chances of precipitation were also increased, mainly north of Interstate 40, due to current shower coverage and forecast afternoon convection leading to scattered shower coverage. There are slight chances of thunder within showers due to afternoon instability. Forecast snow levels are around 5,500 - 6,000 ft MSL. && .PREV DISCUSSION /436 AM MST/...
