020 FXUS65 KFGZ 232202 AFDFGZ Area Forecast Discussion National Weather Service Flagstaff AZ 302 PM MST Sat Mar 23 2019 .SYNOPSIS...A weak weather disturbance will brush northern Arizona this evening with a few showers possible along the Utah border. From Sunday through Tuesday, high pressure will lead to a period of above average temperatures. A low pressure system may bring windy conditions on Wednesday and Thursday, as well chances for light showers. && .DISCUSSION...A weak shortwave will move through Utah tonight with just a slight chance for showers along the Utah border. High pressure will then build over the southwest through Tuesday with a noticeable warming trend. In fact, by Tuesday, afternoon temperatures should be around 10 degrees above average. This will be the warmest temperatures of the year so far. A trough of low pressure building off the West Coast on Tuesday will begin to increase southwest winds on Tuesday. Winds will increases on Wednesday and Thursday as the trough approaches. High temperatures will also drop by 10 degrees by Thursday. Little if any precipitation is expected with this storm at this time. && .AVIATION...For the 00Z Package...Mainly VFR conditions are forecast over the next 24 hours. Slight chance of showers north of a KGCN- K0V7 line through 06Z with cigs around 4-7kft AGL. Daytime winds decrease between 01-03Z to generally light and variable.
