.SHORT TERM...(Tonight through Friday)

WV/IR imagery this afternoon showing a positive tilt shortwave trof 
extending from the Dakotas to the upper Midwest with vort max 
settling into western NE. 

Regional 88D was showing a narrow band of precip extending from 
about west-central IA to south-central KS. Best omega will continue 
to shift southward through tonight as the upper system heads deeper 
into the central Plains and precip shifts to southern IA/northern 
MO.  

Models are in good agreement dry conditions will prevail the next 
several days along with a warming trend aided by a narrow elongated 
upper ridge building in from the west. Highs on Wednesday will 
top out in the lower/mid 50s with mid/upper 50s both Thursday and 
Friday.

.LONG TERM...(Friday night through Tuesday)

Possible precip this weekend associated with a system lifting out of 
the southwestern CONUS. Increasing chances come Friday night then 
continue throughout the weekend. A weak cold front sweeping 
southward will keep precip chances in place into early next week.  

Highs during the extended periods will generally be in the mid
50s.

MVFR to low end IFR ceilings and visibility are expected to sag 
southeast leading to improving conditions by O9Z at TAF sites and
12Z in far southeast Nebraska. During the day on Wednesday, gusty
northwest winds may develop, lingering into Wednesday evening.
