May be a lingering shower early over eastern areas, but most areas will be dry for the entire short term period as surface high pressure to our northwest builds in. The lower clouds will exit, but there will be an increase in high clouds during the period. However, still should be considerable sunshine today with above normal temperatures. The high wind warning will be allowed to expire as mountain wave enhancement is ending. .LONG TERM...(Monday through Saturday)... Quiet pattern to start extended forecast period with high pressure moving toward the Tennessee Valley and centered to the northwest Monday. Upper level flow is zonal Monday then ridging aloft ahead of upper level low that spins off the southwest US coast brings warmer temperatures at mid week. The deep trough associated with this upper low moves into the south central states Wednesday. As the system deepens and the parent deep surface low moves into the northern plains A warm front is expected to develop across the eastern Tennessee Valley bringing up warm moist air from the Gulf of Mexico. A chance of thunderstorms Thursday and Thursday night ahead the cold front. Temperatures will be much above normal in the upper 60s to lower 70s. Also a heavy rain threat Thursday night and early Friday ahead of the front.
