With the clear skies it waas a cold morning across the region with early morning lows in the single digits to the teens. Today will be a bit warmer than the past few days with temperatures mostly in the lower 30s, but still with below normal which are now in the lower 40s. High pressure holds on to bring plenty of sunshine on Saturday with highs in the low to mid 40s. A low pressure system approaches Saturday evening, bringing brief periods of light snow to central and western Massachusetts before changing to rain after sunrise. As the system inches closer, winds will push to the southeast and bring warmer air into southern New England. Widespread rain will overspread the region by the afternoon. Seasonable temperatures will return with highs ranging in the 40s. Overnight lows will range in the mid 30s. The rain is expected to move offshore by early Monday morning. $$ AED
