Mid afternoon temperatures ranged from 37 in Galesburg, to 53 in Flora. Scattered showers and storms will continue across the area into this evening, with locally heavy rainfall possible. As the area of low pressure deepens into the central Great Lakes tonight, a strong cold front will push across the Midwest. This will allow scattered thunderstorms to shift east of the region overnight. Meanwhile north of the low pressure track, heavy snow is expected for portions of northern Iowa, into Minnesota and Wisconsin. Strong northwest winds behind the low pressure system, will gust over 50 mph in many areas late tonight, through much of Sunday. Winds will gradually relax Sunday night and Monday, as high pressure builds in from the northwest. This will bring dry weather and below normal temperatures for the start of the work week. Low temperatures tonight will range from the teens in central Iowa, to the lower 40s in southern Indiana. Highs on Sunday will range from the teens in northern Iowa, to near 50 degrees in southern Illinois. $$
