Late morning readings were in the 30s. The high pressure ridge will keep dry and seasonably mild weather in place for tonight into Friday. A strong storm system developing over the Plains to end the week, will affect the region for the first half of the weekend. This will bring a chance of severe weather to the southern Midwest and Ohio Valley, with heavy snow possible over the upper Midwest. Ahead of the area of low pressure, southerly winds will allow above normal temperatures to overspread the area for Friday into Saturday. Behind the low, strong winds will affect the Midwest, for Saturday night and Sunday. High temperatures today will range from the mid 20s in northern Iowa, to the mid 40s in southern Illinois. Lows tonight will range from the single digits in northwest Illinois, to the upper 30s in southern Illinois. $$ 25
