The National Weather Service in El Paso has issued a

* Dust Advisory for...
  Northwestern Otero County in south central New Mexico...

* Until 315 PM MST.

* At 1221 PM MST, a plume of blowing dust and sand from White Sands 
  National Monument was reducing visibility along and near the U.S. 
  54 corridor. Blowing dust and sand will persist for then next few 
  hours, and may shift to the south over time.

  HAZARD...Less than one mile visibility with strong winds gusting 
           45 to 50 mph.

  SOURCE...Satellite imagery and observations.

  IMPACT...Hazardous travel.

Locations impacted include...
Alamogordo, Holloman Air Force Base, White Sands National Monument, 
Tularosa, La Luz, Burro Flats, and Boles Acres.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

Motorists should not drive into an area of dense blowing dust. PULL 
ASIDE STAY ALIVE!
