(Today and Tonight) Cloudy and cool with a chance of afternoon rain showers... Widespread fog is expected across areas south of the Interstate 20 corridor through much of the morning. Some locations will see patches of dense fog with embedded light drizzle that will drop visibilities down to one quarter of a mile or less. With extensive cloud cover and light winds, the fog will be slow to dissipate but is expected to start lifting by the late morning. A thick stratus/nimbostratus deck will help initiate some light drizzle across much of the area before a weak shortwave trough moves across the region and brings a chance for some light rain showers to develop across the western counties and move to the east. Any rain that does fall will be very light, and expect precipitation totals below a tenth of an inch. With the extensive cloud cover, temperatures will remain cool even with the weak WAA occurring. Highs will be in the low to mid 50s. By the evening, the rain chances come to and end across the western counties with just a slight chance of light rain showers across the eastern Concho Valley and Big Country. Expecting another round of low clouds to develop by he evening with fog redeveloping across the Concho Valley and Northwest Hill Country by the late evening and early morning hours. Light drizzle will again be possible with patches of dense fog likely along the eastern portions of Interstate 10. Overnight lows will drop into the mid to upper 40s. LONG TERM... (Monday through Saturday) A strong upper level shortwave trough will head eastward across the four corners region into the Panhandle on Monday. Will see light precipitation ending from west to east during the day as dry air filters in from the west as the trough moves through. Will also see rather windy conditions develop mainly across the western counties by the afternoon. We may see elevated to critical fire weather conditions across the northwest counties by Monday afternoon. Flow becomes more zonal Tuesday through Thursday, with a warming trend expected. Another cold front will move in Thursday night into Friday, with breezy northwest winds, but only slightly cooler temperatures. We will see a warming trend into the weekend, with no precipitation expected at this time. 08 && .PRELIMINARY POINT TEMPS/POPS...
