108 FXUS64 KHGX 032151 AFDHGX Area Forecast Discussion National Weather Service Houston/Galveston TX 351 PM CST Sun Feb 3 2019 .DISCUSSION... Not a lot of changes with the overall forecast as this warm/moist airmass lingers over SE TX the next several days. Periods of iso- lated/scattered showers (via embedded disturbances in the SW flow aloft) will be interspersed with periods of foggy/drizzly weather. Coastal locations should see a bit more of the fog (as conditions there remain favorable for the continued development of sea fog). Models appear to be coming into a slightly more consistent place- ment/timing with respect to the next upper trof moving across the Rockies. This system is still progged to drag a cold front across the area Thurs afternoon...reaching the coast just before sunset. Much colder temperatures (highs in the lower 50s/lows in the mid- dle to upper 30s) are on tap for Fri, then slowly warming through the weekend. 41 && .MARINE... Sea fog should continue for much of the upper Texas coast and bays tonight into Monday. A marine weather statement will highlight the fog threat overnight until visibility drops to advisory levels. Dense fog advisories may be possible tonight into tomorrow with increased moisture already in place. Surface dewpoints are now in the mid to upper 60s while water temperatures remain in the upper 50s at best. Winds may be more from the south on Monday which may help limit the development of sea fog later in the day and into Tuesday. Still the pattern will be supportive of sea fog through at least Wednesday or Thursday given the higher moisture and colder waters in place. Sea fog threat will likely decrease Wednesday and Thursday as stronger winds should increase mixing and more likely to dissipate fog. A cold front is looking more likely to push off the coast Thursday night with northerly winds and drier air on Friday. Overpeck && .PRELIMINARY POINT TEMPS/POPS...
