Variable winds tonight will turn NE on Wednesday but remain mainly below 10 kt. && .PREV DISCUSSION... /issued 349 PM EST Tue Jan 29 2019/ DISCUSSION... High pressure will continue to slide off to the east as a weakening cold front moves through the region late tonight through Wednesday morning. Another cool night is expected across the region as lows will drop down into the mid 40s across the northwestern interior to the mid 50s across the east coast. As the cold front continues to weaken on Wednesday it will stall just to the south of the region. The low level winds will remain generally westerly out ahead of the front and do not support that much moisture moving back into the region. However, there will be just enough low level moisture in place to support a slight chance of showers especially during the afternoon hours mainly across the southern areas as well as the Atlantic waters. High temperatures on Wednesday afternoon will still remain on the cool side as they will rise into the mid 60s across the northwestern interior sections to the lower 70s across the west coast as well as the east coast metro areas. Both of the GFS and the ECMWF continue to show eastern troughing departing while the modifying arctic high pressure area shifts from the western Great Lakes into the Mid Atlantic region. A low amplitude disturbance riding the southern jet stream should cross the northern Gulf of Mexico on Thursday, before reaching the Florida Peninsula on Friday into Saturday. With east to southeast flow, showers will be possible, with the wave perhaps bringing a period of greater rain chances and thunder in the Friday to Saturday timeframe. Temperatures should moderate during this period with highs mostly in the 70s to around 80 and lows in the 50s and 60s. MARINE... Marine conditions will slowly continue to improve across the Atlantic waters tonight as winds will drop to 10 to 15 knots. Wave heights across the Atlantic and Gulf coastal waters will continue to subside as well. Another cold front will move through the local waters early Wednesday morning. Winds and seas will slowly start to increase once again across the waters throughout the day on Wednesday and into Wednesday night behind the front. && .PRELIMINARY POINT TEMPS/POPS...
