730 WWUS43 KEAX 240858 WSWEAX URGENT - WINTER WEATHER MESSAGE National Weather Service Kansas City/Pleasant Hill MO 258 AM CST Thu Jan 24 2019 ...Strong winds and Blowing Snow Thursday, Dangerously Cold Thursday night into Friday morning... .A bitterly cold air mass will sweep across Nebraska and Iowa into Kansas and Missouri this morning. The arrival of the cold air will be accompanied by strong gusty winds, especially along the Iowa border across far northern Missouri. There are concerns that the wind blown dry fluffy snow that fell across far northern Missouri, will result in blowing snow, reducing visibilities and making travel a bit treacherous during the day today. Therefore a Winter Weather Advisory for blowing snow has been issued for counties on the north border of Missouri. Additionally, the cold air will continue to filter south Thursday night into Friday morning, and even with winds easing up a little Thursday night, we expect values to drop at least into the Wind Chill Advisory criteria range tonight through mid-morning Friday.
