...WINTER WEATHER LINGERING THROUGH THIS MORNING...

.A low pressure system moving across the southern Appalachians 
will continue to produce wintry precipitation across parts of the
region through at least the morning hours today. Pockets of 
freezing rain continue this morning, resulting in slippery road 
conditions and power outages in some areas.

...WINTER STORM WARNING REMAINS IN EFFECT UNTIL 7 PM EST THIS
EVENING...

* WHAT...Pockets of freezing rain ongoing. An additional light
  accumulation of ice may occur in some locations.

* WHERE...Western North Carolina mountain locations stretching 
  from southern Jackson County northward through the northern 
  mountains, including the greater Asheville area. Also included 
  are the North Carolina foothills and northwest piedmont, as 
  well as northern Greenville County in South Carolina.

* WHEN...Through 7 PM EST Sunday, although the precipitation will
  end across most locations by noon.

* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...Power outages and tree damage are likely 
  due to the ice. Travel by vehicle could be nearly impossible 
  and walking outside may be very hazardous due to slippery 
  surfaces.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

A Winter Storm Warning means significant amounts of snow, sleet,
and ice from freezing rain will make travel very hazardous or
impossible.
