High pressure drifts offshore tonight into Thursday. It will be
another cool night, but not as cold as previous ones. Late
Thursday and early Friday a strong storm system will approach
from the west. Low level cold will be stubborn to move out and
precipitation may start as brief freezing rain away from the
coast, but quickly will give way to warming temperatures and
rain. Rain may be heavy at times, and will lead to rising rivers
and potential break up ice jams on rivers currently frozen. The
storm system will be slow to move through the area, with showery
weather hanging on into the first half of the weekend.
