There looks to be plenty of cloud cover...and winds will be northwesterly...ranging from 10 to 20 MPH. High temperatures for this afternoon are forecast to reach the mid 40s in the north to lower 50s to the south. A colder and more active period moves into the area as we get into Wednesday and Thursday...with a stronger upper level disturbance moving onto the Plains. Chances for rain will start moving in from west to east Wednesday afternoon...which will then gradually transition over to snow Wednesday night. Snow chances will continue on through the day on Thursday...and when its all said and done...snowfall totals over a good portion of the area may range from 1 to 3 inches. Thankfully...wind does not look to be a major concern...and are expected to be east to southeasterly around 10 MPH while the snow is falling. High temperatures on Thursday look to only reach the mid 30s...but the forecast for Fridays highs is even lower...with some portions of south central Nebraska potentially struggling to reach 30 degrees. $$
