Ideal marine wind and waves result until low pressure arrives over western Upper Michigan by Wednesday night. This system pulls a cold front across Lake Huron and Lower Michigan early Thursday with a pattern of showers and thunderstorms followed by strong cold air advection. Northwest wind gusts around 30 knots are likely behind the front possibly supporting hazardous small craft conditions, with gusts near gales possible over the Lake Huron open waters, before high pressure arrives during Friday.
