At 922 PM CDT, local law enforcement reported flooding across the warned area. Up to two inches of rain have already fallen. The Ninnescah River in Kingman is now above flood stage and is rising at this time. River flooding is now adding to the area flooding from recent rains. Some locations that will experience flooding include... Kingman, Norwich, Cunningham, Nashville, Murdock, Waterloo, Willowdale, Zenda, Spivey, Cleveland, Penalosa, Mt Vernon, Kingman Airport, Rago, Cheney Lake and Cheney State Park. Additional rainfall amounts of 1 to 2 inches are possible in the warned area during the overnight period. PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS... Turn around, don't drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood deaths occur in vehicles. Use caution while driving. Do not cross water covered roadways, even if you know the road well. The roadway or bridge may have washed out. Be especially cautious at night when it is harder to recognize the dangers of flooding. Be alert for rising water during the overnight hours as the Ninnescah river continues to rise.
