However, scattered showers and an isolated thunderstorm developed over the southwestern interior sections of Puerto Rico during the mid afternoon hours. Maximum temperatures ranged from the mid to high 80s across the coastal areas. Northeast winds prevailed between 10 to 15 mph with gusts in the mid 20s. Under a northeast wind flow, brief passing showers are expected to move at times across the northern and eastern sections of the islands through the rest of the weekend. Afternoon showers and an isolated thunderstorm are possible once again on Sunday afternoon over the southwestern quadrant of Puerto Rico. A tropical wave is forecast to move over the region on Monday. Small craft operators should exercise caution across the Caribbean waters due to winds up to 20 knots. Seas are expected to range between 3 to 5 feet across most of the regional waters.
