The short term will see the persistence of a deep trough from the Great Lakes into the southeast states. The southern portion of the trough is forecast to become cut off over GA on Monday. In addition...remnants of a weak front will linger across GA. This combination should continue to support development of showers and thunderstorms over the area with a mainly diurnal pattern...with the exception of any thunderstorm complexes that may form. Good chance to likely pops for today and Monday look reasonable...with somewhat lower pops overnight. SPC has our area mostly in general thunder today...except marginal for our southernmost counties. General thunder again for Monday. As usual a few storms could become severe. Temperatures expected to be near normal most areas. 41 .LONG TERM /Monday Night through Saturday/... The forecast area will be under the influence of an upper level Low/trough through much of the long term. The upper low will weaken into a trough that will continue to weaken into the weekend. A weak cold front will move to n GA Friday into Saturday. Plenty of moisture and instability will be in place to allow for scattered to numerous showers and thunderstorms each day.
